Destiny Determined | Signed Sealed & Delivered (overcoming doubts and setbacks)

As she walked through the lobby, she heard someone say, “Ouch,” followed by the sound of something dropping. She stepped back toward the mailroom.

“Are you okay?” she asked.

She heard a giggle as the lobby attendant laughed and responded, “Yes, I’m good.”

She smiled and said, “I just wanted to let you know that I’m heading to my car, but when I come back, I have a package waiting for me that I’d like to pick up.”

The attendant laughed again and said, “That was your package that just dropped on my head!”

They both burst into laughter. “I’m sorry—wow. Divine timing,” she replied.

The morning hadn’t started as she expected, but she decided to grab her earphones from the car and begin her morning workout. As she increased the speed on the treadmill, her mind replayed the encounter.

“Everything Allah has for you is already written,” she whispered to herself.

1. She has to Acknowledge her Doubts to Heal

You don’t always know how Allah will guide you toward His ultimate plan for your life. When doubts suface, they often stem from outside influences, past experiences, or the whispers of Shaytan. Acknowledging your doubts can be a beautiful guide to healing.

Shaytan thrives on keeping you stuck, stagnant like a magnet, drowning in hopelessness over sins you feel you can’t recover from—as if Adam (AS) didn’t eat from the forbidden tree or Musa (AS) didn’t take a life in anger. But it’s never too late to repent and realign with Allah’s plan.

When Allah places you on the path of your purpose, the work isn’t just external. It’s internal too—acknowledging the source of your doubts, trusting Allah, and moving forward becomes your antidote.

Affirmation: Everything Works In My Best Interest

“So surely with every hardship, there is ease.” (Quran 94: 5-6)

Roadblocks will come, but they are tests to strengthen you. She sat for a moment, reflecting on the epiphany she’d just had. It was time to shift her mindset:

• “If I can trust that Allah’s plan for me is grand—even through this difficulty—I can overcome this challenge. I know it will take time, but I believe I have the strength within me.”

• “If I stay in gratitude…”

• “Even if I have to talk myself into accepting the changes around me, I will build a stronger trust in Allah’s plan for me.”

• “Sis, these devils are coming for me, but I know that everything from my past has been overcome before—and it will be again.”

She reminded herself to flow with her obstacles rather than resist them.

2. She needs to understand the Role of Forgiveness in order to Overcoming Doubt

Shaytan often uses people as tools in his plan to derail your mission. He whispers hate and envy into the hearts of those closest to you. These moments can feel like betrayal, but they are also reminders of our shared human experience.

Forgiveness is crucial because we all fall short at times. There are moments when we are vulnerable and unknowingly allow ourselves to be used as tools to deter others. By forgiving, we release the burden of holding onto pain,  make space for healing and growth, and grow a closeness with Allah. Forgiveness is not based off ones level of righteousness because we all sin, but a means of purification.

Ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “O people, turn to Allah in repentance. Verily, I repent to Him one hundred times in a day.

(Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2702)

3. She must be in her natural state to truly Align with Divine Timing

Each challenge may feel unconquerable in the moment, but as you continue to push forward, your faith grows stronger. Keeping a mindset of letting go of what you can’t control allows you to float. “Dont you know what's for you can't be stolen, please wake up and smell the roses.” she reminded herself.

The entire universe operates in Divine timing. Why step out of your natural rhythm to force things into your reality? Even gravity, with its gentle force, holds everything in balance. Reflect on how beautifully The Most High created you. Everything aligns at the perfect time. When we disrupt this flow by trying to be in control, we disturb our equilibrium, creating stress and disharmony in our soul, weakening our immune system and making us more susceptible to stress and disease.

4. She has to Become a New Version of Herself

Overcoming doubt and setbacks requires a new version of you—one that trusts yourself, believes in what can’t yet be seen, and builds resilience. This is not just about surviving challenges but embracing them as opportunities to evolve into the person Allah has destined you to be.

Remember: Trust Allah. Trust His plan. Trust the process. Everything is working out for your best interest. Allah has a beautiful plan in store for you.
